Send text, links and images to Telegram

A browser extension that sends what you right-click to your Telegram chat, group or channel, or anything you like from its popup.

Telegram is a trademark of its owner. Send to Telegram is a free, open-source extension and isn’t affiliated with Telegram.

Ingredients selected on a recipe page are sent to the Kitchen chat from the right-click menu. Then the extension’s popup opens from its toolbar button, a photo is attached with the note “For Sunday #recipes”, and sent.

A weeknight country loaf

Mix it after dinner, shape it before bed, and bake it while the kettle boils.

Ingredients

  • Sourdough starter, 100 g
  • Water, 350 g
  • Bread flour, 500 g
  • Salt, 10 g

Method

Stir the starter into the water until it’s milky, then add the flour and rest it for half an hour before the salt goes in.

Whatever you right-click

The menu offers what’s under the pointer, and each kind arrives the way Telegram shows it best.

  • Selected text

Keeps its line breaks. Longer selections are split into several messages automatically.

  • Links

Go as they are, with Telegram’s preview under them.

  • Images

Arrive as photos. One Telegram can’t fetch comes as a file, then as a link, so a send never disappears.

  • The page

Goes as a link with its title. Add a note or a hashtag from the popup.

Two ways to connect a chat

Link a chat in seconds with S2T Relay, or use your own bot for a direct, two-way connection. Each chat can use either.

S2T Relay

  • Ready in seconds
  • One-way

Press Start in Telegram and the chat is linked. A small relay passes your messages on to Telegram without reading or storing them.

Setup
Press Start in Telegram.
Setup time
A few seconds.
Stored
A hash of your browser’s token, its name (such as “Chrome on macOS”) and the chat it sends to. Never your messages.
Incoming
Messages sent to the chat stay in Telegram. The relay only sends one way.
Files
Text, links, pages and images. Attaching a file needs your own bot.
Read the relay’s code, or host your own

Your own bot

  • Two-way
  • Full control

Create a bot in Telegram and paste its token. Messages go straight to Telegram, and what you send your bot shows up in the popup.

Setup
Create a bot with @BotFather, paste its token, and press Start. The extension finds the chat by itself.
Setup time
About two minutes.
Stored
Nothing. Your token stays in this browser, and messages go straight to Telegram.
Incoming
Messages sent to your bot show up in the popup, photos, videos and files included. Send a link from your phone and it’s a click away.
Files
Attach one from the popup, or paste or drop it in.

The details

  • More than one chat

Send to yourself, a group or a channel. With several chats, the menu asks which one.

  • Hashtags as you type

Type # in the note to pick a saved tag, so messages are easy to find in Telegram later.

  • One shortcut for the page

Sends the page you’re on without opening anything. Another one opens the popup.

  • History you control

Search what you sent and send it again, or keep only the times, or nothing. Private windows never leave a trace.

  • An optional password lock

Encrypts your chats, tokens and history in the browser, and asks for the password when the browser starts.

  • Your chat, your look

Light and dark, six backgrounds, or a photo of your own.
